When performed by experienced and professional people, acid washes are a safe and effective method of immediately increasing your boiler efficiency. Even with the most effective water treatment programmes, it is only reasonable to expect that a gradual build-up of deposit will occur over the years. This amount of deposit, although it may never impair the reliability or production capacity of a boiler, will affect efficiency slightly. Should efficiency of only 1% be lost over a period of time, it is obvious that this can affect your yearly fuel bill much more than the cost of an acid wash every 10 to 15 years.
